Instant Brag Book - Perfect for Grandmas!

My project today is a little brag book that I made to show off pictures of my sweet grand children.  I used Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments collection and another Kathy Orta tutorial.  This time it is one of the bonus projects from Kit Club 11.

I used Babyville snaps for the closure.  Snaps will only work if you use a very sturdy material (that will not tear) for the cover.

I attached the 3x5 cards to the end of each page using one of Kathy's special hinges.  These flip open so that I can add a pic or journalling.
The back of every page has a pocket for journal cards and photos.

The base pages are a good size to fit regular 4x6 photos.
I love my local scrapbook store.  I found most of what I needed to make this book at Scrapbook Central in Courtenay. Shop local people!!

I inked all the edges with Distress Dusty Concord. The cover is made with Kraft-Tex!  I am so excited that Scrapbook Central is bringing in a supply of Kraft-Tex.  Come check it out!

I loved making this project and I can not wait to collect pictures of my 7 grandchildren!

A Book for the Fur Baby

Sooner or later we get around to doing something with all the pictures we take of our beloved fur babies.  I found just the scrapbook for this purpose on Kathy Orta's Paper Phenomenon site.  This one is from her Kit Club 11 Dog Bed project.

Here is my very loved fur baby - Sasha.  Don't you think she deserves a scrapbook of her own?

This is what I created for her.......

The paper line is BoBunny Happy Tails.  I created two books (one for Sasha and one for a friend) and I used the 12x12 paper pad, a 6x6 pad, stickers and extra goodies that I found at Scrapbook Central in Courtenay.

This is the perfect little scrapbook for anyone to make.  The pages are simple and there is an insert that folds over the page and holds six photos plus a pocket for a journaling tag and even more pictures.  Here are a couple of my inserts open in their pages......

I've got lots of pictures of Sasha over the last 4-years and I hope to get them printed and in this book before the end of the summer.  I post new pictures when the book is done.

I think I will enter this project into the following challenges:

French Country Vertical Paper Bag Mini Album

It is hard to believe that this is a paper bag album.  The method that Kathy Orta uses to assemble this beauty is brilliant and turns an ordinary creation into a special gift.

I used the Graphic 45 French Country collection of papers that I found at my local Scrapbook Central store.  This paper is so beautiful it begs to be used for a special project.

It is almost impossible to see but the body of the rooster and the flowers are dimensional.  After cutting out the images and dry fitting them to the page, I shaped the paper with my fingers and gentle pressure to just the rights spots.  Pop-dots help to hold the centre portions up.  Wet glue is used all along the outside edge to hold it all down in place.

I linked the tutorial to Kathy's name above.  The bag is attached with a binding pocket to her normal hidden hinge system.  You can see that there are lots of pockets for photos and tags.

Back of page 1 and front of page 2
The page binding forms a belly band and I slipped in tags.  The paper bag also allows for multiple items including more tags for photos and journaling.

I having a great time making my way through a number of Kathy Orta's tutorials.  They are easy to follow and I am learning new techniques that will help me design my own tutorials some day.

On to my next project! Have a wonderful day!
