Sweet Christmas Babies

Two of my husbands cousins (one removed) are expecting in December.  One with twin girls and one with a surprise yet to be known.  The family had a bid baby shower last weekend and I resolved to give the two families scrapbook albums that I have made.  Unfortunately, I was still working on the Baby2Bride album so I had to present it unfinished at the shower.

This big album is finished now and ready to send back to the "mother to be".  I used the Graphic 45 Baby2Bride paper collection, leftovers of the Little Darlings collection, and a Paper Phenomenon My Design Mini tutorial.  Fortunately, both the Baby2Bride and the Little Darlings have similar tonal colors.

I added lots of lace (from Belgium), and Prima and Wild Orchid flowers to the cover - it is for girls after all!  The My Design Mini is a big book with six pages and lots of interactive elements.  Kathy Orta from Paper Phenomenon is an amazing designer!

There are lots of pictures so sit back with a cuppa and check out this amazing album.  The pages will look somewhat similar as I constructed two basic page designs and then decorated one set with the Baby2Bride and the other set with Little Darlings.

Believe it or not those first 4 pics are for the first page!  I didn't even take pictures of all the flaps open.  I have to say that this paper collection is brilliant!

So that set of 4 pics is for page 2.  You can see that I used Kraft and white paper with plenty of Ranger Distress Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges and the emphasize the beautiful Martha Stewart punch on the paper edges.

Ok, that set was page 3 and you can start to see the repeat in design.

And that set was page 4.  I think you get the idea so I will spare you the rest of the pictures.

I always add plenty of tags for added pictures and journaling.  I counted 66 places for photos just on the first page with all its flaps and tags!

Well, I am off to get this in the mail to the family.  Have a happy scrapin day!

Christmas Boxes

I have made a sweet little box to share today.  I am making several of these boxes decorated for Christmas treats to give to special people in the community.

This box is very simple and easy to make starting with a plain paper box from Walmart for jut $2.  I covered the box with scraps of Graphic 45 12 Days of Christmas (I made and album from this paper last year).

A note about adding ribbon to the lid.  You want to place it deep inside the lid so that the extra adhesive (I used Tombow Fastner Tabs) doesn't get in the way of closing the lid.

I also created one of my special flowers (tutorial here) made from the Flowers pieces of the G45 12 Days of Christmas set.  I layered up the pieces and secured them with a brad.

Then I wet the layers thoroughly and scrunched up all the layers making them very wrinkly.

The last step is to gently peal back the layers into the shape you desire and let it dry completely (over night if possible).  The finished flower is beautifully sculpted and retains it's shape.

The finished box from several sides........

Supplies used:

  • Paper box from Walmart
  • Graphic 45 12 Days of Christmas paper scraps and flowers
  • Tombow Fastner Tabs and Xtreme glue tape
  • Really Reasonable Ribbon
  • Wild Orchid leaves
Challenges for this project:

Have a great scrapin day!
