There is more to cracked eggs than breakfast!

Yes, apparently there is more you can do with eggs than just scramble them! This little fella is out for a boat ride in his egg shell.

This was a fun card to put together and simple too.

Hostess Monday at Digital Delights

Hi everyone!  I have the pleasure of being the Hostess this week at Digital Delights.  I want to show you my take on a calendar that I saw on my team mates site - Rubber Stamping is my Game. I made it for my husband so it does not have much bling!

This calendar works for the whole year and comes with a
variety of images, days and months.

I started with the basic elements of a side step card.

I cut slits in the Spellbinder die cuts so that the images and the months would slip into the slots.

I printed and colored all the images and used Distress Tea Dye to  color the edges of the images, days and months.

I used jewelers "O" rings to hold the days in place.
They can be flipped over for each new day.

I used some of my favorite Digital Delights images for this calendar project:

Birthday Cake Josh, Kiss Me Pasquali, Chompers colored, Daisy Flower,
Sailor Simon, Scrubbie Ted

Mr. Gnome, Dazzling Sue, Pumpkin Kiddles,
Fall Girl, Caroling Polly

Card Recipe
Paper: Bazzill teal, SU paper pack
Markers/Ink: Copics, Ranger Distress Tea Dye
Embellishments: Spellbinders dies, Prima pearls, O rings

Hello Sunshine!

My card this week features this cute Flower Power Daisy.  Wendy over at Digital Delights has made several of these wonderful spring flower girls.

This was a simple card to make.  I just printed out Flower Power Daisy and the sentiment.  The coloring was easy and then I used a Spellbinders die to cut the image shape.  I left the paper in the die and used Distress ink on a sponge to add color around the image, and this technique also leaves a white edge as a frame.

Card Recipe

Paper: SU Dafodill, Spring Fling Papers
Markers/Ink: Copics, Distress Scattered Straw
Embellishments: Spellbinders dies, lace, CraftSmart Ribbon, Prima flower, SU flower brad

Crafty Sewing Mouse Kit

This cute little Crafty Mouse from Digital Delights inspired me to make a sewing kit for my eldest grand daughter (age 9).  She has just started sewing with mom and I knew she would need some supplies.

I made a box (design is from Amazing Paper Grace) and topped it with a see through lid made with Spellbinder dies.

Inside the box are old wooden spools with a selection of threads, a thimble and safety pins.

Inside the thread package is a fresh set of sewing needles.

Paper: KaiserCraft Magnolia Grove, acetate
Markers/Ink: Copics
Embellishments: Spellbinders dies, bakers twine, wooden spools, and sewing supplies

Give Me Your Heart!

My card this week is for my sweetie on Valentines.  I used a Robyn's Fetish image and tried to use more masculine colors.  He knows that I am in to lace and ribbon so he won't mind my embellishments.

I wanted lots of dimension so I embossed a piece of light teal card stock and then lightly brushed my sponge over it with Distress Fired brick.  Then I layered it up with a new Spellbinders die postage frame and Fleur de Lis.

Card Recipe:
Image: Robyn's Fetish Randy Valentine Day
Paper: Bazzill Brown and light teal, Basic Grey
Markers/Inks: Copics, White Gel Pen
Embellishments: Spellbinders Postage Frame and Fleur de Lis, Scalloped Oval, May Road heart pins, craft ribbon and lace, Prima pearls, SU Twine

Let Your Light Shine - Craft a Scene

This week at Craft a Scene the challenge is to let our light shine with a creation that contains a lighthouse.  We also need to tell everyone how our project is shining our light.

My project this week is a bookmark for my daughter-in-law.  Her birthday just passed and this is for her to mark her spot in her reading.

I stamped the image onto watercolor paper with Momento black ink.  I used Ranger Distress markers to lightly color the main areas and then used my paintbrush and water to smooth out the color.

Card Recipe

Paper: SU Early Espresso, Strathmoore watercolor paper
Markers/Ink: Ranger Distress pens
Embellishments: Spellbinders bookmark die, various string and ribbon from my stash
