Wedding Album with Graphic 45 Mon Amour Collection

I have been waiting patiently to show you this beautiful album I made for my Niece and her new hubby. I finished it several weeks ago, but I could not share it until I presented it to her because she follows my work too.

Here is the cover ......

I cut the signature page down and glued the edges to the cover.
This allows for tags and pretty ephemera to be inserted.
Of course with this lovely vintage paper I had to add some lace.

I used a tutorial from Paper Phenomenon, the Traditions Genealogy Scrapbook.  This tutorial was very easy to use and makes a great "larger" mini album.  Here is the inside front cover......

This is the inside front cover with Insert #5 tucked in the pocket from the Photo Mats and Inserts #1 tutorial. I added Spellbinders heart die cuts to add the names of the Bride and Groom.

This album is perfect for 8x10 and 5x7 photos as well.

Lots of room to add 4x6 photos without trimming!

This project took quite a bit of paper too.  I used most of two 12x12, two 8x8, and one 6x6 pads. The ephemera pack and Prima flowers rounded out the embellishments. Here is page 3 .....

Back of page 3 is the centre of the book with two facing pages the same.  I slipped in a couple of Photo Mats from Tutorial #1.

Whew! That is a big scrapbook!

My niece loved it and now needs a little help getter her pictures into the book.  I guess I might be persuaded to make it back to San Diego for a visit as long as the weather is nice.  Hope you enjoyed my latest scrapbook project using a Paper Phenomenon tutorial.

Winter Scrapbook - Half Page Mini

I have been working on a winter scrapbook album to put all of our snow related pictures. I can honestly say that I was an adult (about 20) before I actually saw snow falling from the sky.  I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area where the temperatures are mild most of the year.  When my family went to play in the snow (about 4 hours away), the snow was already on the ground.  So, as you can imagine, snow is a big deal to me!

I have already started to put our snow pictures in this album and I plan to bring it out to the coffee table at this time of the year so that we can look at and remember all our snow adventures.  There is still space for more pictures and I can't wait to capture our next snowy trip.

This is Paper Phenomenon's June bonus project the Half-Page Mini.  It is 8 1/2 by 10 inches with large pull-out pages for lots of pictures.

The paper collection is from BoBunny - Sleigh Ride.

What you cannot see in these pictures is that the half-page is a pocket and a large folded insert nestles in the pocket.  Here are a couple of those inserts open.

Camping Memories

I have been holding off showing this mini album because I wanted to put some of my family camping pictures in it first. But alas, time flies by and it has been a few weeks since I last posted a project.

This mini is from Kathy Orta's new Minutes to Memories tutorial.  It is a very fast project using a sewn in binding and pocket pages combined with large envelopes.  I was able to construct the base album in one evening.

I used Simple Stories "Take a Hike" paper collection and Snap Pages.  The large envelopes are from the BoBunny MiscMe collection.  The cover looks pretty plain at this point because I will be adding a large picture of the family around the camp fire and probably some twigs and other woodsie embellishments.  Yes, that is burlap on the spine.

The inside front cover has a very nice angle pocket for extra tags or memorabilia.

 I never realized how quick a pocket page (or project life) style was put together.  Just cut the pretty paper and pictures to size and slip them in the pockets - no glueing!

As I add pictures I will remove some of the decorative papers from the pockets.  I will also add lots of stickers and surface embellishments to complement the photo subject.

In Kathy's original tutorial she uses a "signature" binding, making one signature to hold the pages.  I decided I wanted more pages so I made three signatures and sewed them directly to the spine.

This is such a great, easy scrapbook to make using just pocket pages and large envelopes. I can't wait to get my photos organized and into this book!

It's a Cute Purse, No Wait A Mini Album!

I have been a member of Kathy Orta's kit club for a little over a year and am enjoying the great, inventive, and interesting mini album projects.  The amount of paper and supplies we get is amazing and very generous. My project today is from Kit Club #11 - The Convertible Album and it looks like a ladies handbag.

I think the reason it is called the convertible album is because you can choose to make it into the purse shape or leave off the closure and handle and just make the wonderful album.  The project also uses a chipboard speciality album with the pieces inserted throughout with a special hinge that Kathy's shows us how to make.

Enough talk.....  here is my decorating take on the Convertible Mini......

Just a note about the pages.  The 100 Days of Summer album came out before I started this one and I used the stacked pockets idea in my convertible album.

Here is where you can see the stacked pockets I added to the design of the mini. It just gives more space for tags and that means we can add more pictures.

 On this page I cut out the round slides "thingy" and attached it to the pocket so that it made another pocket.

I made a fancy tag for this page that opens up and has pockets.

I love adding elements to pockets that make more pockets.

This is a really big album because there are 6 pages on both sides of the handle clasp. This is the start of the second section.

I really liked this project for a number of reasons; super interesting design and clasp, really two albums in one - 12 pages in all, and the new "add any element" hinge.  Thanks Kathy!
