Merry Christmas Kiddles

My Digital Delights card this week is this cute little Reindeer Kiddles Christmas card.

I tried something a little different this time.  I used two strips of ribbon to make it like a wrapped gift. I know lots of designers do that, it's just different for me.

Winter Scene with Robyn's Fetish

I made another scene featuring Robyn's Fetish images that I want to share with you.

This time I used Gimp (freeware) to arrange the cottage on the page and I even flipped one of them.  The right front cottage is larger and the other two are successively smaller to show perspective. I printed the scene on Copic X-Press It paper.

I added two of my favorite Robyn's Fetish snowmen to the front yard of one of the houses.  The trees are from Stampscapes and Art Impressions - 243A, 085A, and the birds 302A are Stampscapes. Plenty of Stickles was used to add sparkle to the paths and the roofs of the cottages.

I colored the sky and paths with Panpastel Phthalo Blue Tint and then added a bit of green around the base of the trees. The trees were stamped with Momento green and Print Works Fern Green.  The houses and snowmen were colored with Copics.

Card Recipe

Holiday Cheer at Love to Create

The theme this week at Love to Create is Holiday Cheer.  Our sponsor is Bugaboo and I made a fun card with a twist.  The image is a snowglobe so I thought I would make the card using a an Impression Obsession Shake It pouch.

I layered my designer paper on the outside of the card and then cut the circle using a large Spellbinder circle die. Next I cut my image to the right size that overlaps the circle cut in the card stock.  After a little coloring I sprinkled a very small amount of FlowerSoft on top of the image (I first tried more but it was too much to move around inside the globe). Then I added the plastic pouch and glued the two together around the edges.  This duo was slipped into the hole on the card and glued in place.  Lastly, I added the inside designer paper.

To decorate the front I cut a Spellbinder scalloped circle and then cut a circle in the center so that it would fit over the plastic pouch.

Card Recipe:
Image:  Bugaboo Marshmellow Snowmen
Paper: Bazzill and  BasicGrey Aspen Frost
Markers/Inks: Copics
Embellishments: Spellbinders large circle and scalloped cirlce, Really Reasonable Ribbon, Impression Obsession Shake It pouch, FlowerSoft, Stickles

Winter Scene for Craft a Scene Challenge

Today I have a special card that combines a Robyn's Fetish digi image with Stampscapes and Spellbinders.  Mine was easy, but you should hope over to Craft a Scene and see what the rest of the design team came up with. They are all spectacular!

I sized and printed my image on Copic paper.  I figured out what size I wanted and then my stampscape image. I added the PanPastel color to the background sky and some hightlights for shadow under the sledder.  The main image was colored with Copics.

Card Recipe
Paper: Bazzill Teal, Little Yellow Bicycle - Skate Sratch
Markers/Ink: Copics, PanPastels, Momento Black and Olive
Embellishments: Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles, lace, Really Reasonable Ribbon, eyelet outlet brad, Prima Pearls, Stickles

Peek-a-Boo Snowy!

This is a special fold card that comes with a surprise.  It is a peek-a-boo card and it is fun to make.  I used the new Digital Delights Snowy Set and I followed the tutorial by Norma at From My Craft Room.

This is what the front of the card looks like when it is flat.
I used the Snowy Set topper and BossKutz poinsettia to decorate the front of the card.  The sentiment is also part of the Snowy Set.

This is the same front card standing up.
You can begin to see that there might be something different about this card.
As I start to open the card you can see that something is changing.
The sentiment on the inside is from the Naughty or Nice sentiment set.

Then when the card is fully opened you see a different image.
Don't you just love it?  This new Snowy Set is perfect for this style of card.  I used the pre-colored version but you can also get it uncolored.

Card Recipe
Paper: Bazzill red, Totally Tartan digital paper pack
Markers/Ink: Bazzill Fired Brick
Embellishments: Spellbinders Oval and Scalloped Ovals, Lacy Circle,  and Spellbinders Leaves, Stampin Up label punch, BossKut Pointsettias die

Wise Men Still Seek Him - Even the Snow Type!

Making a holiday card with non-traditional colors is tougher than it seems.  This is what we are trying to do over at Love to Create with MelJens images.

For my card I used Meljens Christmas Star Snowman.  I tried to add ribbons, lace and such but nothing I tried looked right.  So I ended up with something a little different for me - CAS.

I did add a little Stickles to the hat on the rim and the pom-pom.

Card Recipe:

Paper: Bazzill brown, Copics white, My Minds Eye
Markers/Inks: Copics, Distress Tea Dye

Give Thanks at Love to Create

Our theme this week at Love to Create is "Give Thanks".  The timing is perfect as this week the U.S. celebrates Thanksgiving.

My card features an image from our sponsor Robyn's Fetish that reminds me of visiting Apple Hill just outside of Sacramento, California.

The kids and I would drive out to Apple Hill and buy up all kinds of apples (by the box) for making pies and applesauce. Yum!

Love to Create - Shades of Autumn

My card this week for Love to Create is using a cute little image from Bugaboo.  I think that might actually be a daisy the girl is holding, but for me it is a sunflower.  Sunflowers were my mom's favorite flower so I tend to use them more often in her honor.
