School Days- A Vintage Album

I am really quite excited to share this mini album with you all today.  I only learned about and fell in love with Graphic 45 early last year and by then it was too late to purchase collections that I was seeing and loving on Pinterest and YouTube.  Graphic 45 re-released this collection and naturally, I made a new mini album!

The tag is held to the cover with a brad.

Tim Holtz chain for closure.

This is my third album using the Paper Phenomenon "Max Your Mini" AKA "Witches Brew" album tutorial.  The page size is 8x8 making the album 8 1/2 x 8 1/2.  I think this is the perfect size for a smaller mini.  Big enough for 4x6 photos and small enough to maintain the cuteness factor.

Here we go with page 1.........

Well, you get the idea.  I really enjoyed working with this paper collection and making a cute school oriented mini album.  Here are the fronts of the remaining pages.....

Paper: Graphic 45 ABC Primer Re-release, Bazzill Raven Black and Red
Embellishments: Rare Earth magnets, Tim Holtz chain closure, Michael's brads, EK Success edge punches

I do hope you give this great album tutorial a try.  No matter what paper collection you use it is going to look great!

Have a happy day!

Paris Anyone? A Foto Folio Scrapbook in Yellow and Black

I think what I love most about making mini scrapbooks is the paper.  It's the way the colors make me feel or how the images twist my emotions.

I was introduced to mini scrapbooks in a class at my local scrapbook store - Scrapbook Central in Courtenay, BC in October 2014, and since then I have become a paperaholic.  I don't think there is cure at this time and even if there was I probably would wait for double blind trials, lol!

I immediately fell in love with this Authentique: Classic Beauty collection the moment I saw it in a sales email from an online store.  I bought it the same moment!

I have turned the simple paper pad and Life Cards into a wonderful Foto Folio following Kathy Orta's second set of folios and style #6.  It is a great tutorial, easy to follow and makes a unique, off center scrapbook with room for lots of photos.  A male friend was visiting and noticed the scrapbook on my table.  He opened up and started to turn the pages.  He kept saying, "this is great", and then "it just keeps on going, doesn't it?"

This is what you see when you remove the magnetized belt closure.
Open the top flap to reveal the the center of the book.

Now let's explore the left side.....

I used an acetate pocket on the left

The yellow pages is actually multiple tags ready for pictures.

Let's explore the right side.....

The left side has stepped pockets and the right side has a series of tag layers.

I used Tim Holtz #10 tags on this layer

On the bottom of all the tag layers is a generous pocket with space for a layout.
After the tag section comes a large acetate pocket for lots of memorabilia.

I kept the left side plain so I can do a layout with photos.
and finally we come to the last page.....

Big "L" pocket at the end!

I hope you have enjoyed looking a this paper as much as I did while making the album!  Here is my recipe:

Project Recipe
Tutorial: Paper Phenomenon  Foto Folio 2, Style #6
Paper: Authentique Classic Beauty paper pad and Life Cards, Bazzill Raven Black and Pale Yellow
Embellishments: Acetate, Fab Scraps charm, Office Depot paper clips, Stampin' Up brad, Rare Earth magnets, Tim Holtz #10 tags from Scrapbook Central
Inks: Distress Black Soot

Have a super scrappy day!

Grandma's 4x6 Brag Book

I have a very cute little mini album to share with you today.  This album is made from Pion papers from Sweden.  The only store in Canada where you can find them is at Treasured Memories Scrapbooking in Duncan, BC.

This little book is 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 and is perfect for the 4x6 photos of a special little person.  I am thinking of this album as a grandma's brag book.

Inside the cover section
The album is filled with acetate pockets, flaps, tags and side pockets, which provide over 40 spots for photos.

I used a Kathy Orta tutorial from Paper Phenomenon.  This one is the January 2015 bonus project known as the Gift Card Folio and Box Set.

On the right is a photo frame with tag insert.

Project Recipe
Tutorial: Paper Phenomenon  Gift Card Folio and Box Set.
Paper: Pion baby paper collection from last year, Bazzill brown
Embellishments: Acetate, Martha Stewart edge punch, EK Success edge punch from Stampin Up

Hope you enjoyed seeing this project as much as I did making it!

New Tangle - Laughmin

Every once in a while inspiration hits you smack between the eyes and I had one of those experiences today.

Elaine Huffman, the inspiration behind Tangle U (a continuing education retreat for Zentangle Teachers) posted on Facebook a picture of a Minion with a definition for Snaughling.  During the ensuing dialogue Jane MacKugler suggested that we might get a new Tangle out of snaughling.

Well, that was a challenge that I could not pass up!  This is what I created:

If you are a Zentangle fan you will recognize this chart as a "step out".  It shows the steps to draw the Tangle and there are just 4 steps to Laughmin.  The name is a take on laughing Minions.  Every time I see a picture of the Minions I have to smile and my Tangle kind of looks like a smile.

Give it a try and let me see what you create!
