Drawing and Learning Zentangle Art

Hi friends and followers.

I have always told people that I am not an artist and that I cannot draw.  I am a crafter! I love crafting and have tried almost everything in the crafting world. However, I have always wanted to learn how to draw.  My fellow DT members at Craft a Scene sometimes draw their own scenes or add to their stamped images with hand drawn surroundings.  I would like to be able to do this too!

I have been exploring drawing techniques and ran across Zentangle.com recently. It is an amazing technique to stimulate creativity, improve hand-eye coordination, promote drawing and relax. The originators of this technique, Rick and Maria, have explained everything on their web site.  I found Tanglepatterns.com to be very helpful as well.

I found a certified instructor in my area (Barb Round) and took her three classes. I was amazed at what we created and am starting to feel like maybe I can draw.  I hope to keep learning Tangles and start to expand my drawing to freehand images to use in my card making.

Here are a few of my samples....

Did this one on my own after the 1st class.

This tangle was made during the 2nd class.

Just Tangling on my own.

This one is my favorite and was done after the 2nd class.
I'll keep sharing how I am progressing with Zentangle and hope to incorporate some into my card making soon.

Have a great day!
