Live in the Present!

As we enter the new year most of us take stock of the recent past and sometimes make new year's resolutions.  My resolution is to "live in the present" as much as possible.

I love this Just Right sentiment and it goes well with my resolution and this scenic card.

I started my scene by stamping Tilda - Key Largo and then masked her for the rest of the scene development.  I added Sutter stamps water G795, Art Impressions psalms, Coronado Island sailboat, and Stampscapes 302A Gulls.

Card Recipe:
Image: Tilda Key Largo, Stampscapes 302A Gulls, Sutter G795, Coronada Island sailboar, Art Impressions psalm trees, Just Right sentiment

One Touch of Nature - Beaches

Craft a Scene challenges is having a beach theme.  We are to make a beach project with a bit of sand and water.  I am still playing around with water color techniques and I included images from our sponsor Rubbernecker and Kittie Kits.

I started out stamping my two main images with Stays On black because I didn't want them to run when I added water to the paper. Then I used the sand stamps from the Kittie Kit Cause a Scene to stamp in the sand area. I watered and brushed this part until I was happy with the coverage.  Then I applied blue directly from the marker and watered it around.  The sky was next.  After it all dried I added the grass stamps, birds and sentiment (from Stampscapes) and colored in the characters.  The white water was added with a Uni-Ball Signo gel pen.

Card Recipe
Images: Kittie Kits from Rubbernecker, Stampscapes Sentiment Set
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Early Espresso
Markers/Ink: Tombow markers and water
Embellishments: TPC gems

Summertime Fun Challenge

Today my card is for the Love To Create Summertime Fun. I used an image from Robyn's Fetish that is just perfect for this challenge. I also used the 4 Crafty Chicks sketch for my design.

I smoothed in the sand and sky with PanPastels. Love the applicators because the color just glides on smoothly.  I also used them for the bathing suite.  Then I colored in everything else with Copics.

Card Recipe
Images: Robyn's Fetish Seashells for Sale, Stampin Up Think Happy Thoughts sentiment stamp
Paper: Bazill Cream, GinaK Pool Side

Hello everyone!  Today my card is for the Craft a Scene challenge: Beach Scenes - a bit of sand and water.

I have been dabbling in watercolor lately and having a fun and frustrating time.  I watched a few watercolor marker videos on YouTube (Art Impressions mostly) and gave it a try.  Believe me it is harder than it looks.

For this card I used my new Kittie Kits - Cause a Scene Master set #2 and Scene #5.

Rubbernecker and Kittie Kits are the sponsor for the
June challenge.
