Wild West Show Today!

Well, maybe not an actual show, but a great card for a boy's birthday instead.  One of my team mates made a card similar to this and it gave me the idea for this card.

I combined the Lil Billy image with the Ranch image using the free software Gimp.  Several people have commented how they didn't know how to use Gimp.  Check out the eBook from Digital Delights.  It will tell you everything you need to know to use Gimp to work with your digital images.

The closed card front has really great horse paper from Sugar Tree.

Tweet, Tweet - A Little Birdie Told Me!

My card today is for the Creative Craft Challenge.  I used a really cute Robyn's Fetish image, A Little Birdie Told Me.  I colored it all over with Copic markers and then punched out flowers to pop-up where Robyn's flowers were on the image.

Oops the picture is a little crooked!
I found some clear gems from my stash to add to the center of the flowers.  I thought the Sizzix embossing folder would add a bit of dimension to the overall card.

Card Recipe:
Image: Robin's Fetish- A Little Birdie Told Me, Stampin Up sentiment
Paper: Whisper White, Michael's paper pack blue
Markers/Inks: Copics - E13, E15, E18, Y15, Y17, G09, B26, B23, B21

One Touch of Nature - Beaches

Craft a Scene challenges is having a beach theme.  We are to make a beach project with a bit of sand and water.  I am still playing around with water color techniques and I included images from our sponsor Rubbernecker and Kittie Kits.

I started out stamping my two main images with Stays On black because I didn't want them to run when I added water to the paper. Then I used the sand stamps from the Kittie Kit Cause a Scene to stamp in the sand area. I watered and brushed this part until I was happy with the coverage.  Then I applied blue directly from the marker and watered it around.  The sky was next.  After it all dried I added the grass stamps, birds and sentiment (from Stampscapes) and colored in the characters.  The white water was added with a Uni-Ball Signo gel pen.

Card Recipe
Images: Kittie Kits from Rubbernecker, Stampscapes Sentiment Set
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Early Espresso
Markers/Ink: Tombow markers and water
Embellishments: TPC gems

Hi everyone! Today my Digital Delights card features an underwater scene with Crab and Smiling Fish for a fishy birthday.

First I used Gimp (free software) to combine the Modern Frame and Under the Sea background. After printing I colored in the background and the two little fish.  I cut out the fish and popped them up with Stampin Dimensionals.

Summertime Fun Challenge

Today my card is for the Love To Create Summertime Fun. I used an image from Robyn's Fetish that is just perfect for this challenge. I also used the 4 Crafty Chicks sketch for my design.

I smoothed in the sand and sky with PanPastels. Love the applicators because the color just glides on smoothly.  I also used them for the bathing suite.  Then I colored in everything else with Copics.

Adalyn's Luvvy Bear Mobile

Today I have the privilege of being the Monday Hostess at Digital Delights.  I made a mobile for my new granddaughter's bedroom using the little Luvvy Bears and Starry Booboo.

First, I sized and printed the bears on Copic paper from GinaK. Then set out to color them all! After starting the process of coloring 8 Luvvy Bears and 2 Starry Booboo's I thought maybe I should have used the pre-colored versions.  I think it is great that Wendy gives us those two options.

Next was the process of constructing the mobile wire structure.  I used craft wire from Michael's making two 18 inch long sections with loops on the end and one shorter (about 12 inches) section with one end looped.  These three pieces were wrapped together on each other at the center of the two longer sections.  This essentially made an 'x' with a tall hat.

Then I added little pieces of wire with stars glued on the ends.  I attached the bears with SU Dimensional's. The bears seemed incomplete until I added little pink bows.

Project Recipe
Paper: Copic paper from GinaK
Markers/Ink: Copics - R83, R85, E15, E17, E18, Y17, C1
Embellishments: Ribbon, Gold paper, Craft wire, Dimensionals

Hey Girl! We are recycling at Love to Create

Good morning everyone!  Over at Love to Create Challenge Blog we are using recycled bits in our projects.  My image is from our sponsor Sassy Studios and I reused raffia from a flower arrangement my daughter gave me on Mother's Day.

I combined the Country Girl image with a piece of SugarTree paper covered with different horse images. I thought it would work well with this sassy farm girl.

I really like this new Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles.  It is perfect for framing longer/taller images.

My Garden Bench

There is this big furry gray cat in my neighborhood that seems to really like my yard.  I find her in the flower garden, the vegetable garden, under the trees, sitting on the seat in my husbands old Triumph convertible, where ever it is dry and shined on by a patch of sun.  So it seemed fitting to include that cat in one of my designs.

I have been playing with Art Impressions stamps and different mediums.  For this particular card I used PanPastels for the sky and ground background and then stamped the leaves, grass and flowers with a variety of inks at my fingertips.  Mostly I used Momento and Stampin Up Spots.  I finished off the image using this week's Mojo Mondays sketch.

Card Recipe
Images: Art Impressions Water Color Series 7 plus lots of little flower and grass stamps, Our Daily Bread Friendship Set for the sentiment
Paper: SU Garden Green, Christy Tomlinson She Art
Markers/Ink: PanPastel chalks, Momento and SU Spots colors
Embellishments: Spellbinders Label 18, Craft lace, RRR ribbon, Wild Orchid Flower, MS Leaf punch

Well, now I am off the garden to find that pesky cat and do some weeding.

Craft a Scene - Beach Scenes

Hello everyone!  Today my card is for the Craft a Scene challenge: Beach Scenes - a bit of sand and water.

I have been dabbling in watercolor lately and having a fun and frustrating time.  I watched a few watercolor marker videos on YouTube (Art Impressions mostly) and gave it a try.  Believe me it is harder than it looks.

For this card I used my new Kittie Kits - Cause a Scene Master set #2 and Scene #5.

Rubbernecker and Kittie Kits are the sponsor for the
June challenge.

Card Recipe:
Images: Kittie Kits Scene #5 and Master #2
Paper: Bazzill (two shades of teal), Strathmore watercolor paper, Stampin Up paper pack
Markers/Inks: Tombow watercolor markers
Embellishments: Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles
