Box Folio Mini-Album

I am sure you have noticed by now that my new passion is making scrapbooks of all kinds.  I really enjoy trying new techniques and styles.  I have been focusing on the tutorials from Paper Phenomenon for about a year now and having a great time.

This is the left side of the cover open

My new little folio is so cute with Carta Bella Beautiful Moments papers.  It is a really quick project to make and should have a box, but my paper pack did not have enough paper for the folio and the box.  I think it is cute just by itself though.

I also made a video for YouTube.  This one is upside down - I have a lot to learn!

Here is the cover

Open the cover and then there are several sections to open as well.

Supplies used in this project:
  • Paper: Carta Bella Beautiful Moments, Recollections black cardstock
  • Tutorial: Holiday Kit Club Box Folio
  • Embellishments: Spellbinders die - Labels 28 for tag toppers
Hope you try this super easy mini-album soon!

Legacy Family Scrapbook

Hi all, I have a new scrapbook to share!

I actually made a video this time with my phone - the first!

This one is designed for the old family photos that I have been saving for just the right scrapbook.  I used Simple Stories Legacy paper collection and another Kathy Orta tutorial.  This one is another in the Foto Folio series style #3.

The first opening of the book shows two sides built the same with stacked pockets.  Each pocket has tags decorated and ready for photos and journaling.

This inside section has a "snap page" added that flips up to reveal a pocket.

More pockets and beautiful paper

Stickers and pocket cards

Lots of space for pictures!

Do give this great tutorial a try. You will be surprised how many pictures you can fit into this book.

Have a great day!

One Last Christmas Scrapbook

Today my scrapbook follows a new tutorial by Kathy Orta - Sleigh Bells from Paper Phenomenon.  I really like this tutorial as it is easy to do, is gorgeous and only uses most of a regular designer paper pack.  I used Fancy Pants Designs Merry Little Christmas collection of goodies that I purchased from Steals.com.

Nice simple cover almost like Santa's coat.

I modified my version to be a stand-alone album instead of the album stand for a decorative sleigh.

Inside front cover and first page with tags.  Gotta love stripes!
Peel back the tags to show the beginning of page 1 with its generous pocket.

Open the first flap to reveal lots of space for photos and two hidden areas.

This is the back side of page one and the beginning of page 2.
All the remaining 5 pages in this album follow the same flow with two great tags for pictures, two generous pockets, 2 lift up flaps and much more.

Back inside cover.
I really enjoyed making this album and I think this design is my new "go to" design for making gift albums.

Have a wonderful day!

Zentangle Inspired Art with Gelato Circles

It is time to mix things up a bit and post some of the Zentangle Inspired Art I have been creating.

I saw a post on Facebook where someone had drawn circles all over their page.  I am not sure what they had planned because I really didn't read the rest of the post.  As soon as I saw the picture though I knew what I wanted to do with the same idea.

I used a set of metalic gelatos (I know you are probably thinking ice cream at this point) to make a water color solution. All you need to do is chunk off a little piece of the gelato paste and add water.
It takes a bit of effort to mix it up into a water color solution.  You really have to swish it around with the water, adding more water drops as needed to get just the right amount of fluid.

When each color solution was ready, I dipped different sized cups and lids from the kitchen into the solution and then onto my water color paper.  The metalic gelatos make a very nice shiny circle.  I added a few to a page and more to other pages.  Sometimes when I lifted the cup it splattered the gelato color which made a another cool effect.

Once the paper was completely dry I started adding Tangles inside the circles.  On one page I choose to change the Tangle in each and every circle section (above).  On the other I decided to respect the circle and keep the same Tangle for the whole circle regardless of how many times it was split.

Work in progress

Have a go at this super simple water color technique and you will be surprised what an artist you really are.

Have Fun!

Little Christmas Folio With Winning Paper

A few weeks back my favorite scrapbook designer demonstrated how she decorated one of her Foto Folios Minis - Kathy Orta from Paper Phenomenon.  After the demo she said that she would share the paper pack and some of the extras with the first person to comment on her Facebook post.  Well, I won!

Using this great paper collection from Echo Park Christmas Cheer and KaiserCraft Peppermint Swirl pocket cards I made my own Foto Folio Mini #6........

I mostly decorated like Kathy did but had to make some adjustments based on supplies.  I love it!  Thank you Kathy for such a great tutorial and the winning paper pack!

Beautiful Blue and Yellow Scrapbook - Foto Folio 2 Style 1 Mini

I seem to be on a role with the scrapbooks this month.  I do have other things to post about but my posting is a little backed up at the moment.  I have been working my way through the new Foto Folios 2 from Kathy Orta at Paper Phenomenon.  This is the mini version of Style 1 that I posted last week.  This book is 9x7 and can hold over 60 pictures.

I left the cover plain this time.  The book is closed with a magnet.
This is the book open.
I'll just flip through the pages for you to see what it looks like.

I love these colors!

I added Teresa Collins pocket cards to some of the pages.

I used My Minds Eye, Now and Then paper collection along with chipboard pieces, stickers and brads.  I still need to add all the photo mats.

I have more scrapbooks to post as well as a bit of Zentangle, so stay tuned.

Have a scrappy good day!
