Look Deep Into Nature

I have a number of Beewax and Stampscapes images that have been waiting on my work table for me to have time to create.  I finally found a little time and made this garden scene for the Craft a Scene challenge.

I stamped the scene on Cyrogen Cardstock that I purchased from Peddlers Den at the Savannah retreat in May.  This paper is amazing!  I colored the foreground image with Copics and then added PanPastels to the background mountains and sky.

Our Mechanic Gary Says So-Long

One of our friends and co-workers at our OK Tire shop is leaving us to teach in Ontario.  He is in the Canadian Military and he thinks this might be his last posting before he retires.  He wants to come back to the Comox Valley when he finally finishes his tours.  I made this card for the guys at the shop to sign and give at his farewell party.

I had to work in a little yellow because the OK Tire colors are black, grey and yellow.  Gary always wears black!!

Inside My Vegetable Garden

This week I have an entry for the Craft a Scene "Inside the Garden" challenge.  I am currently camping out by the ocean and just did not have time to make this card before I left home.  So my card is a little sparse on embellishments because all I brought with me were my markers, a paint brush, images to color and a few Art Impressions stamps that I am using to learn watercolor techniques.

I used two Art Impressions sets to make this card - WC Series 3: Set 1-4056 and Set 2-4057.  I brought along a couple of pieces of designer paper in case I needed them for mounting and ended up using one as my embellishment.  It is covered with daisies and I cut along the top row to make like a bit of lace.

Card Recipe:
Image: Art Impressions - WC Series 3: Set 1-4056 and Set 2-4057
Paper: SU Garden Green and a piece of paper that I won last year
Markers/Inks: Tombow Watercolor Markers
Embellishments: Prima Pearls

On Vancouver Island where I live the strawberries are ripe and ready to pick.  I know this is late compared to other parts of the country but I live on the edge of a rain forest and our seasons are later than most.

In honor of the strawberry picking and eating I decided to use this super sweet image from Digital Delights and one of the new pre-colored backgrounds.

School is out, but it will be back soon!

Check out the great new school time images from Digital Delights.  They will come in handy this September when you welcome a new teacher into the life of your child.  Teachers are so important!  They help to shape young lives and give them skills they need like reading, writing and mathematics.

My most favorite teacher in school was from 6th grade, Mr. Stalks.  He made science come alive for me and it has been an important part of my life ever since.

Stars and Stripes to the Moon

My card today features Bugaboo image - Moon-Girl and I am using her for the Love to Create challenge - Stars and Stripes.  Now maybe you thought that stars and stripes where just for the US flag, but since I live in Canada I thought I would change it up a bit!

To The Moon papers from Fancy Pants Design work great for this cute little Bugaboo image.  I punch the stars out of the paper with a Martha Stewart edge punch.  Then I added a little sparkle with Stickles.

Welcome to My Patio Garden

When I look at my patio these days I see my containers of budding flowers and greenery.  I planted them just a few weeks ago to give my deck some color.  Soon they will be overflowing with mature flowers.  My creation this week for the new Craft a Scene theme, "Inside the Garden" uses Art Impressions stamps and Tombow watercolor markers.

Incidentally, this lovely lace is direct from Bulgaria.  I purchased it from my friends Anne and Steve Thomson at their store, Stamprs in Victoria, BC.  Anne's roots are in Bulgaria and she recently visited her long lost family there.  When she returned she had the most beautiful laces that she put in her store.

Card Recipe
Images: Art Impressions
Paper: Stampin Up Garden Green, Glitz paper pack
Markers/Ink: Tombow markers and water
Embellishments: Wild Orchid flowers, Really Reasonable Ribbon, Lace from Bulgaria, Spellbinders Circle and Scalloped Circle dies.
