You're Some Bunny Special to Me!

My card for Digital Delights this week features some of the new Easter images. I had fun designing with them!

To add dimension to the tree I punched a bunch of the small EK Success Retro flower and leaves.

  • I used my soft pad and a medium ball stylus to crinkle the paper and make them roll-up a bit.
  • I layered the leaf and flower together glued with craft glue to the branches of the tree.
  • I sponged in sky color to add to the background.

Card Recipe:
Paper: Spring Has Sprung Paper Pack, SU Garden Green and Wild Wasabe
Markers/Ink: Adirondack Stonewashed blue and Butterscotch, Copics - E15, E17, E18, R81, R83, R85, E01, E21, E23, E25
Embellishments: EK Success Retro Flower punch and leaf, Dienamics Fresh Cut Flowers, BoBunny ribbon, Yellow ribbon from Scrapbook store, SU label punches

Bike Ride Anyone?

Little Tilda has been playing outside all day, riding her bicycle and visiting friends.  Well, that is what I would like to think anyway.  In my heart it is time for spring and a bike ride would be just the thing to convince my body that there might actually be a spring in my near future.

I have some new spring papers, new Tilda stamps and a wonderful Mojo Monday sketch to use today.

I turned the sketch on its side because it gives me more room for the flourish and sentiment at the bottom. I also drew in a bit of sidewalk that I colored with C1 and C3.

Card Recipe:
Images: Lovely Pop Tilda, Bring on the Cake Birthday Wishes (Stampin Up)
Paper: American Crafts Sweet Sundress, SU Peach Parfait
Markers/Inks: Copics - E01, E02, YR68, YR20, YR02, YR000, E31, E35, B99, B97, B93, G24, G21, G12, C1, C3, C5, C7, W0, W1, W5, Adirondack Aqua (for the sky)
Embellishments: Lace, SU punch and pearls, Sizzlets butterfly die, Wild Orchard Flowers and leaf, MS Leaf Punch, Die-Namics fancy flourish

On the weekend I was looking around blogland and came across some Copic coloring videos by Zoe from Make It Crafty.  She shows how to add in the pleats and wrinkles that we see in our clothing in real life, but they might not be drawn into the stamp.  It was tough to make the transition from the way I usually color to thinking about light and shadows and wrinkles.  It was worth it though, because the pants do look wrinkled.  I don't think the blouse came out the way I wanted it, but there is fun in learning and making mistakes.

Craft a Scene - Moonlight Challenge

Hello everyone! I have new Stampscapes stamps that I am very excited to try out.  I picked up a couple from my local stamping store last week and my order from Kevin at Stampscapes arrived on Wednesday.

This time I wanted to try a technique that I have seen others use for a night scenes where everything is mostly black with just a little light shining through.

I stamped the moon where I wanted it and then inked up just the right side and stamped it to fill in the black space in the sky.  I don't have any other cloud stamps that would work and I needed more clouds.  Then I stamped the Rocky Creek and started tapping in the Stonewashed Blue making sure to leave the center section without any ink.

I let that dry a bit and then started in on the black. This was the toughest part for me.  I wasn't sure how dark to make everything? Anyway, I need to practice some more.

Card Recipe
Images: Stampscapes Rocky Creek Lg 073G, Cloud crescent Moon 201E, Reeds 067B, Leafy Branch 277F

Embellishments: Really Reasonable Ribbon, craft store pin, I used a Bow Easy to tie the bow

Ready For An Old Fashioned Party?

I decided to make a girly girl card today with one of my La La Land stamps.  My scrapbook store brought in quite a few of these little darlings and I couldn't help myself picking up a couple of them last fall.

Sugar n Spice Marci reminds me of the old days making cup cakes with my mom. Marci's dress makes me think of a 50's mom. I couldn't help adding flourishes, flowers and pearls.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: La La Land Sugar n Spice Marci
Paper: Kaiser Kraft Magic Happens, Bazzill Purple
Markers/Inks: Copics - RV00, RV02, V01, V04, E35, E15, E18, YR21, C7, C5, C3, Distress Tea Dye
Embellishments: Basic Grey brad, Spellbinders Label Four and Eighteen, Really Reasonable Ribbon, Wild Orchard flowers and pearls, MS Sprig punch, Lace from Bulgaria, Kaiser Kraft pearl flourish

Craft a Scene Challenge #3 - Moonlight

Hello everyone! I have been creating a little today and one of the cards I finally finished is my DT card for the new challenge over at Craft a Scene.  The theme this month is Moonlight.  We need to make a card that shines a little moonlight on our surroundings.

My card features a new stamp I purchased from Sutter Stamps and leftover pieces of my My Minds Eye Stella Rose paper pack.

I tried one of Sandy's techniques of masking the moon space and then applying color.  I cut the moon shape from my Spellbinders small circle. I used Adirondack Lettuce and Meadow to color the greenery.  I wasn't quite happy with the effect so I added a little Copic G17 to the stalks and the lily pads.  The blues are Cloudy Blue, Denim and Stream.  A white gel pen added the water highlights.

Card Recipe
Images: Sutter Stamps Swan Lake H-1096
Paper: My Minds Eye Stella and Rose, Turquoise blue from my stash, Michael's black
Markers/Ink: Adirondack Lettuce, Meadow, Denim, Stream, Cloudy Blue, Copics - G17, E18
Embellishments: Wild Orchard flowers and corner charms, SU Pearls
