Frosted Design Challenge

I am entering a new challenge this week for Frosted Designs.  Their challenge is monochromatic cards and I chose my new Brights designer paper from Stampin Up.  I am actually going to make a few cards using that color pallete because I want try the different color combinations.

My monochromatic card is done with Oranges.....

I used a C.C. Designs Kiki LaRue stamp and worked with YR00, YR04 and YR07 Copics for the dress and headband.  It is a SU punch and word stamp, of course.

Have a great day!

Tri-Shutter Cards

I found a template for Tri-Shutter cards on Split Coast Stampers and watched a couple of You-Tube videos to get the hang of this inventive design.  I just love the complexity of it and people who receive a card like this are wowed.

I tried a couple of different color schemes and this is what I came up with.....

You can do so much with this style and add lots of little embelishments.

The Tilda image is from the new Magnolia collection.  Wording is from Stampin Up and I used Spellbinders dies for the cool shapes.  Ink is Momento Black and Distress Lilac.  Copics for Tilda of course.

Happy Stamping!

Exciting News!!

Today, my Scripture box project is featured on Our Daily Bread Designs Customer Project of the Day.  It is extremely exciting to be recognised for something that God has gifted me to do.

I learned how to make a drawer box from Holly's tutorial on SCS, but I wanted the box to be big enough to fit the 5x5 cards I am making for the SCS Scripture challenge.  I made a few adjustments (wasted 3 pieces of paper getting it right) and came up with alternate cutting and scoring instructions.

I used Our Daily Bread's Scripture Collection 3 for the stamping.  I put a verse and some flourish inside the drawer too.  Then I used the new Brocade Borders stamp and die set to frame the verse.  Spellbinder Fancy tags gave it a little lift and the Prima Pearls are my favorite part.  The brads on the handle are from Stampin Up.

Thanks for looking and have a GREAT day!

Challenges for this week

Since I had so much fun doing the SCS VSN challenge I thought I would try a couple more.  I am entering this card into the following challenges:

I used oval and scalloped edge Spellbinders.  The text and punch is from Stampin Up.  The lace punch and little roses are MS , or course.  I bought this new Graphic 45 paper from the SB store on Sunday at the Copic class (see post below).

Here is a little card I did for the Paper Romance challenge.  The card had to be in an alternate shape.

I cut out the flower from the Graphic 45 paper and used the Hexigon Spellbinders die.

Sunday Copic Class

Sunday was the 4th in a series of Copic classes I am taking from my local SB store.  We learned that we can use the nib in different ways to get different effects like making your own designer paper!

We also learned that we can transfer color from one pen to another.  The effect is slight blending that we used to make little flowers.  So, if you can't find that perfect paper to use with an image you can always make your own with the Copic colors that you used on your image.

Check out the side slices of paper on the two projects.

Happy Sunday!!

Slimming Down - challenge #6

Whew, I was having trouble keeping up with the timing of the challenges when the last one was posted.  Not only were we to create a card the encourages us but it could only have two layers of card stock!!!

I am trying to loose weight.   I have been doing Jenny Craig and just started at Curves for exercise.  When I look at this card I can see myself walking little Sasha in a cute and skinny outfit one day.

By-the-way, we had to work in the designers favorite color - tan into the card, so I colored the hats tan.

Here is a picture of our little Sasha.  We bought this Yorkshire Terrier when she was only 8 weeks old.

She is a bit bigger now at 6 months.

Two Hearts Beat As One - challenge #5

Ok, this was my favorite challenge of all.  I had been working on a new card structure that I saw in a tutorial on Split Coast Stampers for a gate fold card.  It wasn't finished and when the challenge went out I new I would use what I had already started for the challenge.

For me, being married is two people working together as one, thinking together, making decisions together, raising children together.  Oh, we have our alone times and our time with the gals or guys, but in the end we have each other for comfort, councel and loving.  Our hearts beat together most of the time.

Hence my card.....

When the card is closed you can only see one heart, but when you open the card you see the second heart.
Cool Eh?
